Born from an Obsession with Optimization
LFI wasn't conceived in a boardroom; it was born in the paddock between track sessions. For years, our founder, Kevin Wang, pushed his own cars to the absolute limit on the circuit—wringing out every ounce of performance from his BMW M cars. But as he pushed harder, a frustrating reality set in: the aftermarket wheel industry was full of compromises. Wheels with stunning designs often failed under the intense thermal and structural abuse of a heavy track day. The wheels that could survive were usually massive, carrying dead weight that ruined steering feel and blunted acceleration. Refusing to settle for off-the-shelf limitations, Kevin realized the custom wheel industry desperately needed a new standard of engineering.
Performance Without Compromise
Before LFI, Kevin was an industrial engineer and manufacturer producing micron-tolerance components for global giants like Rolls-Royce, the SAF, and premium tech brands. In aerospace and defense, there is no room for error—structural integrity is a matter of absolute success or total failure. We took that exact same rigorous factory-floor discipline, CNC toolpath mastery, and strict material tolerancing, and applied it directly to automotive metallurgy.
While mass-market brands obsess over production cycle times and profit margins, we invest our hours into load-path optimization and maximizing the structural yield strength of every spoke. At LFI, we engineer wheels that drastically reduce rotational mass while withstanding the punishing forces of threshold braking and apex-curb strikes. I reached out to LFI for a set of wheels for my BMW X3M. I was looking for a clean motorsport look with an ultimate goal of lightweight. After some back and forth I landed on a set of TRS01 in a 20"/18" combo. Delivery took roughly 7.5 weeks from the date of my order and everything arrived sound. Loved the setup so much I went back and ordered a second ha! Great company to deal with and very pleased with their products and customer service.

Great experience with LFI. They thoroughly adviced me on the design and got me my wheels right before CNY. Compliance, Clearly Explained
In the custom-forged wheel segment, the range of possible sizes and fitment combinations is vast. While every individual design, width, offset, and bolt pattern can theoretically be submitted for full third-party certification, doing so is often commercially unworkable, as even minor changes such as a 1 mm offset adjustment or a 0.5J width variation may require complete re-certification.
Rather than overstate our compliance position, we choose to be explicit and transparent. Selected high-volume reference specifications are independently tested under TÜV SÜD lab reporting, while other specifications within the same design family are produced to the same engineering, material, and manufacturing standards. Every wheel that leaves our production line is supported by comprehensive internal testing and validated against JWL conformity targets.
We also recognize that traditional JWL requirements were established for an earlier generation of passenger vehicles, and may not always represent the full demands imposed by today’s heavier hybrids and battery-electric vehicles. As a result, our internal validation programs typically apply more stringent thresholds than baseline JWL conditions where the application requires it.
As one example, the tested 19×9 reference wheel in our report was found to be in accordance with the JWL Aug. 2014 Test Conditions for Light Alloy Road Wheels for Passenger Car.
