Why load rating still matters

For this guide, LFI uses a Mercedes V-Class axle-load baseline of 1550 kg, or 775 kg per wheel, from manufacturer-published V-Class axle-load data for heavier passenger variants. The preferred customer-facing target in this table is 890 kg per wheel, with 950 kg used when the vehicle plate, equipment, tire load, duty cycle, or 1650 kg rear-axle variant calls for extra reserve.

Torque is part of the wheel story

Wheel strength is not only vertical load. LFI also reviews acceleration, braking, cornering, potholes, tire grip, hub-pad stress, bolt-seat stress, spoke-root stress, and rim-barrel torque reaction against an approximately 2,500 Nm per wheel static torque load target.
