EV Fitment

MF912 Design Intent

MF912 is less about drama and more about doing the job well: supporting EV weight, keeping the car comfortable, and giving the stance a cleaner forged look. The current table spans roughly 9.2 to 18 kg depending on size, so smaller fitments favor response while larger fitments add stance and load reserve.

Forged For EV Weight And Torque

This load-focused EV monoblock is ordered around EV curb weight, instant torque, tire load, brake clearance, offset target, and daily comfort so the wheel suits the way the car is actually driven.

Best On The Right EV

Good for daily EV SUVs, family electric crossovers, and owners prioritizing durability and easy fitment over a wild face.

The BYD Sealion 7 reference shows why MF912 belongs in the Electric Series: the face has enough structure to suit a larger EV body while still keeping a clean custom-forged look.

Crossover Fitment Context

MF912 can also work on non-EV crossover platforms when the fitment supports it, but EV applications need additional attention to load rating, tire index, and range/comfort goals.

Forging Profile Option

EnhancedConcavity

LFI concave profiles are built around the relationship between wheel width, offset, diameter, brake clearance, load rating, and forging depth. The goal is simple: push the face as deep as the car allows, without compromising EV fitment, caliper clearance, or structural integrity.

19-24 inch applications Three concavity levels Offset-sensitive design Cost option

Maximum Concave Face

The Maximum Concave Face option is available for selected LFI forged wheel designs. Depending on wheel width and offset, the face profile can be tuned from mild concave to a much deeper spoke drop.

Wider wheels and lower offsets generally allow stronger concavity. For EV builds, LFI also checks axle load, tire load index, brake envelope, and range or comfort goals before recommending an aggressive face.

Three Concavity Levels

Concavity is not selected by diameter alone. The final face depth is calculated from the full fitment package: rim width, offset, brake clearance, vehicle platform, load rating, and the chosen forged wheel design.

The exact concavity level is confirmed during fitment planning. LFI checks the target wheel size, brake envelope, center profile, vehicle clearance, and EV load rating before production.

Deep Concave for High-Offset Cars

Some high-offset vehicles do not naturally allow a deep spoke profile because the wheel face must sit further outward to clear the hub and brake package. For these applications, LFI can offer a specialized heavy-duty blank option that creates a more pronounced concave look while keeping the fitment usable.

This is especially useful for EV sedans and crossovers where the customer wants a stronger visual stance but still needs proper inner clearance, brake clearance, tire load, and road-use reliability.

Fitment Still Comes First

Deep concavity must be balanced against caliper clearance, suspension clearance, fender position, tire width, axle load, and the actual offset range the vehicle can accept. The most aggressive face is not always the best face for every car.

LFI will always prioritize a correct forged-wheel fitment over forcing a face profile that creates clearance problems.

Deep Concave Forging Example

The deep concave forging concept shown below demonstrates how a pronounced face profile can be achieved even on a relatively high-offset fitment, using a 19x8.5J ET42 reference example.

Cost option: Enhanced concavity and deep concave blank selection are optional upgrades. Final availability depends on wheel size, brake clearance, vehicle platform, load rating, and the selected LFI wheel model.
Options

EV-Friendly Detail Options

Anti-Slip Knurled Beads

Knurled bead seats can help reduce tire movement on higher-torque applications, including heavy EVs and sticky tire setups. LFI can quote this where the use case justifies it.

Annular Reinforcement Ribs

Reinforcement ribs can add barrel rigidity where the final specification, road conditions, tire package, or vehicle weight calls for extra reserve.

Product Questions

MF912 Questions

Is MF912 an EV wheel design?

Yes. LFI positions MF912 as an EV-oriented forged wheel design for customers who want a cleaner electric-platform visual direction with custom fitment, finish, and load-target review.

Can LFI build this wheel for non-EV cars?

Yes. The design can still be specified for compatible petrol, hybrid, and performance platforms when brake clearance, bolt pattern, center bore, width, offset, and load rating are confirmed.

Can this wheel be built in 18 to 24 inch sizes?

Yes. Availability depends on the final vehicle, brake package, load rating, width, offset, and forging blank. LFI confirms the exact size before production.

Does LFI check EV load ratings?

Yes. EVs can carry higher axle loads and instant torque, so LFI reviews load rating, tire load index, brake clearance, center bore, hardware, and intended use before machining.

Can I choose a different finish?

Yes. LFI can quote gloss, satin, brushed, polished, black, silver, bronze, body-color, and selected custom finishes depending on the wheel design and production route.
